Habitat for Humanity works in partnership with people in need to build and renovate decent, affordable housing.  We are part of a global, nonprofit housing organization operated on Christian principles that seek to put God's love into action by building homes, communities and hope.  Highland County Habitat for Humanity is dedicated to eliminating substandard housing locally and worldwide through constructing, rehabilitating and preserving homes; by advocating for fair and just housing policies; and by providing training and access to resources to help families improve their shelter conditions.  Habitat for Humanity was founded on the conviction that every man, woman and child should have a simple, durable place to live in dignity and safety, and that decent shelter n communities should be a matter of conscience and action for all.

Habitat for Humanity International was founded by Millard and Linda Fuller in 1976 and is headquartered in Americus, Georgia.  Since then, Habitat for Humanity has helped 6.8 million people find strength, stability and independence through safe, decent and affordable shelter.  There are currently more than 1,500 local affiliates in the United States and 70 national organizations around the world.

Habitat for Humanity of Highland County, Ohio began in 2000.  A group of concerned citizens were looking for a way to help low-income families find affordable housing  We have currently build four new homes and renovated one home here in Highland County.  In March 2015 a "New to You" Store was opened where all merchandise sold is given through gracious donations.
